Commercial Roof Ventilation Products for Wind-Performance Roofing Systems

Overview of the Qorbo Roofing Technology

Qorbo Enterprises develops engineered commercial roof ventilation products designed to improve the performance and durability of wind-ballasted roofing systems.

The Qorbo roofing approach uses specially designed vents and airflow components to create controlled pressure beneath the roofing membrane.

Instead of relying heavily on adhesives or mechanical fasteners, the system uses wind forces and airflow management to stabilize the membrane and resist wind uplift.

Understanding the Qorbo Roof Ventilation Approach

Traditional roofing systems often rely on adhesives, ballast, or mechanical fasteners to secure the roofing membrane. In contrast, the Qorbo technology uses airflow and pressure dynamics as part of the roofing design.

The system incorporates several engineered components that guide airflow beneath the membrane. When wind moves across the roof surface, controlled air movement creates lower pressure beneath the membrane, helping counteract uplift forces above it.

This roof ventilation system allows wind to contribute to membrane stability rather than creating damaging pressure beneath the roofing assembly.

Because airflow plays a critical role in this system, understanding the different types of roof vents used within the system helps explain how the technology works.

Key Components of the Roofing System

The Qorbo wind-vented roofing system includes several integrated components designed to work together.

These commercial roof ventilation products help maintain consistent airflow beneath the roofing membrane while supporting the structural stability of the roofing assembly.

1

Quadravent® Wind Vents

Quadravent® vents are the primary airflow components within the roofing system.

These engineered vents allow wind moving across the roof to create localized pressure differences that pull air from beneath the membrane. The airflow generated through these vents helps maintain pressure balance across the entire roof surface.

Among the various types of roof vents used in commercial roofing systems, Quadravent® technology is designed specifically for vent-ballasted roof assemblies that rely on airflow management rather than heavy ballast or adhesives.

2

Air Distribution Strips

Air distribution strips provide the airflow pathways that guide air movement beneath the roofing membrane.

These strips are installed in specific patterns across the roof to allow air to move efficiently toward the vent locations. As air travels along these pathways, pressure beneath the membrane gradually equalizes.

Within the Qorbo roof ventilation system, the distribution strips ensure that airflow reaches all areas of the roof rather than concentrating around individual vents.

3

Pressure Bar and Butyl Sealant

Roof terminations must maintain an airtight seal to ensure the system functions properly.

The pressure bar and butyl sealant assembly creates the seal between the roof membrane and the structural substrate at edges, walls, and other termination points.

By maintaining this seal, the system preserves the pressure conditions required for the overall performance of commercial roof ventilation products used in the roofing assembly.

How the System Supports Wind-Resistant Roofing

The coordinated interaction between vents, airflow pathways, and termination seals creates a balanced roofing environment.

When wind moves across the roof surface:

  • Air passes over the roof vents.

  • Lower pressure forms near the vent openings.

  • Air beneath the membrane flows toward the vents.

  • Pressure beneath the membrane decreases.

  • Reduced internal pressure helps resist wind uplift forces.

This controlled airflow design allows the roof ventilation system to convert natural wind movement into a stabilizing force for the roofing membrane.
